1962 250 GTO

Here is a beautiful replica of one of the most desirable cars in the world, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, finished in Russo Red, this car has the exact look on this landmark car as shown from the Ferrari history books, one of which goes with the car, the car was purpose built car on a Datsun 280Z chassis about 1998 with constant work continuing on this beauty, the body panels that were molded from an actual car according to the past owner giving a terrific appearance, this gorgeous vehicle has thousands of dollars in real Ferrari badging all through the car, even the grill is correct, the knock off Borrani wire wheels are very period and tires are correct Dunlop racing black walls, the engine is a crate Chevrolet ZZ4 engine with about 1500 miles on the installation, it is rated at approximately 385 reliable horsepower and very fast, has a 4 barrel carburetor that makes it easy for both performance and maintenance, note that with the Holley dual snorkel air induction system and all the chrome with valve covers and alternator, under the hood looks terrific with aero quip lines throughout, fitted with a Vintage air conditioning system and now mated to a five speed transmission with short shift linkage, this is fun and also a pleasure to drive, the black interior seats have been reworked to give the Ferrari appearance, the dash pod is completely done to fit the period GTO, note how the gauges have been set in, the very expensive wood period steering wheel has the Ferrari logo, with the proper Ferrari badging on the sides and the fantastic front end the three air scoops leading over to the proper covered headlights, the lines are fabulous leading past the side scoops down the car to the rear 2x2 correct chrome dual exhaust extensions, there are two minor cracking areas that we have noted in the bottom of the 'B' pillar where the top joins the fender, otherwise, this car creates quite an appearance and the body is lovely with wonderful lines, in February 2003 a final detailing and preparation was done for the Spring season, with the very nice body and air conditioning, this is a strong alternative the open Cobras that are so common, well priced at $38,950
